By Tracy Kinne Fulton city councilors agreed in a special meeting Tuesday to advertise for bids for minor repairs and painting at the VanBuren Park tennis courts. “We’re going to try to get that done this year, weather permitting,” said Mayor Ronald L. Woodward Sr. Bids are due Sept. 20.
Mount Pleasant Grange, 2825 county Route 45, Volney, will host a waffle breakfast 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sept. 21. Waffles will be topped with peaches and served with a breakfast buffet including sugar-free toppings. The New-To-You sale will be open 8 a.m. to noon upstairs at the grange that day.
