The Fulton varsity hockey team has lost its first five games of the season.
Since their season-opening loss to Skaneateles, the Red Raiders lost New Hartford, Auburn, Ithaca, and Baldwinsville.
New Hartford got off to a decent start when it took on the Red Raiders Dec. 1. New Hartford scored four goals during the first two periods. Though the Red Raiders scored during the third period, they were unable to cut into New Hartford’s lead. New Hartford cruised to a 5-1 win.
Fulton was led by Ryan Ross, who scored an unassisted goal. Goalie Brandon Ladd saved 29 shots on goal.
The Red Raiders faced another early deficit when they took on Auburn Dec. 4.
Auburn jumped out to a 2-0 lead during the first period. Though Fulton was able to get onto the scoreboard, Auburn led 5-1 going into the third period. Fulton was able to score another goal during the third period but Auburn came away with a 6-2 win.
The Red Raiders were led by Seth DeLisle, who had a goal and an assist. Kris Grow tallied an unassisted goal. Ladd saved 26 shots on goal.
Ithaca set the tone for a solid performance early on in its Dec. 7 game against Fulton, which was part of the Robert Conklin Tournament in Baldwinsville.
Ithaca jumped out to a two-goal lead during the first period. Ithaca scored two more goals during the second period to take a 5-1 lead into the game’s final period. Ithaca scored three goals during the third period for the 8-1 win.
Kaiden Hotchkiss scored for Fulton while goalie Jared Simpson saved 30 shots on goal.
Dec. 8, Fulton took on host school Baldwinsville in the second game of the tournament. After the first period, the Red Raiders trailed by a goal. Baldwinsville added another goal during the second period to expand its lead to two goals. Though Fulton scored a goal during, Baldwinsville scored two goals to come away with a 4-1 win.
