BFA exhibition to feature 29 SUNY Oswego student artists

SUNY Oswego’s Tyler Art Gallery will display the work of 29 bachelor of fine arts degree candidates in an exhibition from Friday, April 27, through May 12.

Stephanie Arney, a senior studio art major from Watertown, said she intends to show her graphite pencil drawing “Keri Strawberry” in the BFA Exhibition, which opens with an artists’ reception from 5 to 7 p.m. April 27 in Tyler Hall.

Arney, who would like to continue in SUNY Oswego’s master of arts in teaching graduate program, called the college’s BFA curriculum demanding but rewarding.

“It’s been a lot of hard work,” Arney said. “A lot of that is that I changed my major less than two years ago. Since I started taking studio courses, I think about a lot of things I have never considered before, so my drawings have improved.”
