The Hannibal boys varsity basketball team recently earned an impressive win against Syracuse Academy of Science but came up short against Westhill.
After three competitive quarters of basketball against Syracuse Academy of Science Jan. 16, Hannibal pulled away during the fourth quarter to earn a 48-40 win. Unfortunately, the Warriors were not so lucky against state-ranked Westhill Jan. 18.
Once again, Hannibal was in a game that was highly competitive going into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Westhill got it done down the stretch to escape with the hard fought 52-49 win.
Leading the way for Hannibal in the Syracuse Academy game was Jake Shortslef, who scored 14 points. Jacob Schenko finished with 13 points, Trevor Alton chipped in eight points, and Billy Skipper added seven points.
