Crack cocaine seized following search warrant in City of Oswego

The Oswego County Drug Task Force and the Oswego Police Department seized several bags of crack cocaine following the execution of a search warrant in a City of Oswego apartment.

Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, drug task force members and Oswego police searched the upper apartment of 89 E. Cayuga

St. following an investigation into alleged illegal drug activity there.

Nathaniel R. Cosby, 37, of 128 N. Geddes St. Syracuse, and Shinyrra K. Legrand-Thomas, 19, of 254 W. Calthrop St., Syracuse, were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class C felony; and two counts of second-degree criminal using drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Forty-three individually packaged bags of crack cocaine weighing 15.9 grams and approximately $1694.80 in cash were seized along with various drug paraphernalia commonly associated with the use, distribution and sale of illegal drugs.

The defendants were held awaiting arraignment in Oswego City Court. The investigation is ongoing and further arrests may result from the investigation.

Search warrant executed on suspected New Haven meth lab

The Oswego County Drug Task Force — with the assistance of the New York State Police, Fulton Police Department, Oswego Police Department and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department — executed a search warrant last week at 3882 Co. Rte. 6 in the Town of New Haven.

The search warrant was for the home of Brian J. Lamond and Stephanie A. Holt-Ostrander for a reported methamphetamine lab.

The search resulted in the recovery of several items of evidence that are related to the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Lamond and Ostrander were both charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, a class D felony. They were both arraigned in Fulton City Court by acting Oswego County Court Judge Spencer J. Ludington and were remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility until their next court appearance in the Town of New Haven Court March 16.
