CNY Arts Center plans benefit cabaret March 2

Blue skies, purple summers, a little rain, and some California dreaming on a winter’s day set the stage for CNY Arts Center’s first winter cabaret.

“Songs of the Seasons” will entertain audiences March 2 at 8 p.m. in a benefit to support programming at the center’s new facility, located in State St UMC, at 357 State St., Fulton.

The cabaret will feature the talents of area entertainers seen locally on stage and on screen while audience members sample an array of desserts and take chances on a host of raffle items donated from local merchants and artists.

CNY Arts Center gift certificates for memberships, programming and camp scholarships will be among the raffle items.

Cabaret Director Marguerite Beebe has assembled a cast of singers with a wide range of vocal and acting talents, including Adam Schmidtmann with stage credits from several theatre companies in CNY and roles in major musicals such as “Anything Goes,” “Once Upon a Mattress,” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

As the stage manager for CNY Arts Center’s recent premiere of “Yes, Virginia…the Musical,” Schmidtmann embraced the production side of live theatre and is currently serving as assistant director for the Kids Onstage production of “Tom Sawyer.”

Carly Farfaglia is returning for her third appearance with CNY Arts Center, having debuted with “Godspell,” followed by “Yes, Virginia…the Musical.” With performance background in “Secret Garden,” “Wizard of Oz,” regional vocal competition and a local worship band, Farfaglia will also share her talents on the guitar.

Noel Christine Beebe is back in town and back on stage after a three-hiatus in LA where she recently worked as a background actor for NBC’s “Community,” HBO’s “True Blood,” and the box office hit, “I am Number Four.”

She was also the model for CWTV’s “Shedding for the Wedding.”

Back home in New York, Beebe is studying Cosmetology at the Continental School of Beauty.

Marlina Beebe is also making her third appearance with CNY Arts Center fresh from the debut production of “Godspell” and the premiere of “Yes, Virginia…the Musical.”

Most recently seen in “The Drowsy Chaperon” for the Baldwinsville Theatre Guild, Beebe has been performing since she was six years old and lends her vocal talents on many songs.

Marguerite Beebe rounds out the family trio with her own impressive list of stage and screen accomplishments. A Le Moyne College graduate, she is the director of Encore Presentations, a frequent lighting designer and stage manager, was last seen in the Baldwinsville Theatre Guild’s production of “The Drowsy Chaperon” and debuted with CNY Arts Center in “Godspell” and “Yes, Virginia…the Musical.”

When not working onstage, Marguerite Beebe pursues her love of acting on the set of various movies, both student and independent. Most recently she was in “Savage Christmas” for Mad Angel Films.
