Fulton girls soccer defeats Homer

The Fulton girls soccer team raised its record to 9-2-1 on the season following a 2-0 win over Homer Tuesday.

The Lady Raiders scored a goal in each half as goalie Allyson Bricker stopped two shots in the shutout win.

Fulton got goals from Christina Pensabene and Jocelyn Ravesi. Hannah Geitner and Katelyn Caza recorded assists.

Fulton is currently leading its division with a 8-2 record. Christian Brothers Academy is second with a 7-3-1 record.

The Lady Raiders has been a balanced team this season with nine different players recording goals.

Courtney Beckwith and Ravesi lead the team with six goals while Anna Coakley, Pensabene, and Maddie Robillard both have three goals on the season.

Sarah Halstead has scored twice while Karli Bricker, Geitner, and Mary Morrison have scored one goal.

Ravesi leads the team with five assists while Courtney Beckwith and Geitner are second with three assists. CallieBeckwith, Kara Bricker, Katelyn Caza, and Halstead all have one assist.

Allyson Bricker has stopped 58 shots and allowed only three goals for a save percentage of .951 percent. Caza had stop six shots and allowed five goals while Geitner has made two saves and allowed one goal. Nikki King has stopped all 13 shots.

Coach George Beckwith’s team traveled to Cortland Thursday and will travel to Marcellus today for a 6 p.m. matchup.

The girls will travel to East Syracuse-Minoa Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. matchup before hosting Mexico Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest.

Fulton girls soccer team defeats Cortland, ties CBA

The Fulton girls varsity soccer team earned its sixth win of the season when it took on Cortland last Friday. The Lady Raiders won 1-0.

A second half goal proved to be the difference in the Cortland game. The Lady Raiders were led by Courtney Beckwith’s lone goal.

Golie Allyson Bricker saved all three of Cortland’s shots on goal.

The Lady Raiders took on Christian Brothers Academy Tuesday. In the end, the game concluded in a 2-2 tie.

After a scoreless first half, both teams scored a goal during the second half to force the game into overtime.

During the first overtime session, each team added another goal to force a second overtime session.

After neither team was able to score during the second overtime session, the game concluded with a 2-2 tie.

The Lady Raiders were led by Courtney Beckwith and Jocelyn Ravesi, who both scored goals. Sarah Halstead recorded an assist in the game.

Goalies Hannah Geitner and Bricker combined to save 18 shots on goal.

Fulton now has an overall record of 6-2-1 and 6-2 in league play. Fulton plays Oswego today at 1 p.m. The Lady Raiders will then play Homer Oct. 9 and Cortland Oct. 11.

Fulton boys soccer

The Fulton boys varsity soccer team took on Jamesville-DeWitt last Thursday, seeking retribution for a 6-0 loss earlier this season.

After regulation and an overtime session, Fulton’s rematch with Jamesville-DeWitt ended in a 0-0 tie.

Goalie Robert Borrow saved all six shots on goal.

The Red Raiders’ game against Christian Brothers Academy Tuesday was another game in which Fulton was seeking retribution.

CBA defeated Fulton 4-0 last month.

This time around, the Red Raiders gave Christian Brothers Academy all they could handle. Unfortunately for Fulton, Christian Brothers Academy scored a goal during the second half, which proved to be the difference. Borrow saved 15 shots on goal in the 1-0 loss.

Fulton now has a record of 2-6-1 overall and 1-6-1 in division play. The Red Raiders have upcoming games against Fayetteville-Manlius Oct. 6, Homer Oct. 9 and Cortland Oct. 11.
