Helen Iselin, West Monroe resident

Helen L. (DeSaw) Iselin, 88, of West Monroe, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comfort Care Center.

Born to her late parents, Hazel (Smith) and Esson L. Wilcox, she was a homemaker and a owner and operator of a laundromat in East Syracuse.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Phoenix.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Andrew L. DeSaw in 1984, and her second husband, Hollis J. Iselin in 2001; and a brother, Lyle Wilcox in 1988.

Surviving are her children, Wayne L. Renfer of Charleston, S.C., Helen Matchett of West Warwick, R.I.,Nancy (Bill) Balson of Coventry, R.I., and Sharon (Joe) Gilbert of Fulton; grandchildren, Ketelyn Gilbert, Steven Gilbert, Joseph Gilbert, Heidi Rutter, Allissa Archambault, Becca Ramberg, Josh Matchett, Daniel Matchett, Michael Renfer, Laura Renfer, and Karen Oliver; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held yesterday at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix. Services are today, June 23 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 16 County Route 57A, Phoenix. Pastor J. Scott McElyea will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, 465 Peck Rd., North Manlius.
