Harry Collins, World War II veteran

Harry F. Collins, 88, of Fulton, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012.

He was born in Fulton, a son to the late Ralph and Edna Collins. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a life member of the Fulton VFW Post #569 and a member of the Parachute Club of America.

He was very involved with Alcoholics Anonymous and started the Lake Effect A.A. group in Oswego.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Dameon M. Collins.

He is survived by six children, Karen Collins of California, Kathy (Frank) Silfies of Rochester, Richard Collins of Florida, LouAnn (James) Collins-Warren of Fulton, Michael (Jaime) Collins of Nevada, and Sean (Kate) Collins of Fulton; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at the First United Methodist Church of Fulton, 1408 N.Y.S. Rte. 176, Fulton.

Burial, with military honors conducted by the Fulton VFW Post #569 and the U.S. Marine Corps, will be in Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal.

Foster Funeral Home, Fulton has care of arrangements.
