Shock to host playoff game in Fulton

by Rob Tetro

The Syracuse Shock concluded its regular season Sept. 29 with a 14-13 loss to Watertown.

The Shock finished with a 7-3 record, which earned the squad the number-two seed in The Empire League Playoffs.

Syracuse’s quest for the Empire League Championship begins tonight when it takes on the Monroe County Sting.

Tonight’s game will mark the third meeting between the two teams with each team earning wins at home.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Fulton Athletic Complex.

According to Coach Kenny Anderson, bringing Syracuse Shock football to Fulton continues to be a great experience for the organization.

Coaches and players are particularly grateful for the chance to play at the Fulton Athletic Complex.

Anderson is quick to extend gratitude to Fulton Athletic Director Christopher Ells and the Fulton City School District for allowing the Syracuse Shock to make Fulton its home this season.

As a team, Syracuse is considered one of semi-pro football’s top 20 teams. Individually, there have been many great accomplishments as well, including Empire Football League First Team running back DeWayne Gordon, who has rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns.
