It’s hard to believe how fast the days are winding down now! Now that it is Memorial Day weekend already, the end of the year will be here before we know it.

Of course there are some fun end of the year activities going on.

Last Tuesday, a week late due to a rain delay, was the mock DWI demonstration. Juniors and seniors were led out to the parking lot at 8 a.m. and were witnesses to several of their class mates bloody and scared.

Prom was a success! The beautiful Landmark Theater was the place to be last Saturday night. Upon entering the venue students had the opportunity to go right upstairs to the dance floor or head downstairs for their professional pictures to be taken.

The night was filled with fun and dancing and the chocolate fountain was a big hit! Along with the goodies to dip in chocolate, there was a huge cracker and cheese spread as well.

About half way through the fun, the prom court was announced.

Did you know that nearly one billion people have no access to clean, safe drinking water?

Many G. Ray Bodley High School faculty members and students have been participating in The Water Project to bring this problem to light.

For those who don’t know what this is, it is a two-week commitment to drink nothing but water.

First off, I hope everyone has enjoyed their day off to take in all of the nice weather we have been having or maybe to catch up on that hour of sleep we lost this weekend.

Spring may not have sprung quite yet, but this weather is quite deceiving! You won’t hear too many people complaining, if anyone at all!

Those loving it the most are those spring sport members. Who couldn’t ask for a better way to start off the season? Good luck to anyone still trying out for a spot!

Recently voted on by the junior class was the theme of the prom. The winner was a “Red Carpet Affair.” The prom is set for Saturday May 12 at the Landmark Theater, a perfect place for a GRB “celebrities” to make an entrance!  Continue reading
