Born in Margaretville, she was a 31-year resident of Granby. She retired from Granby Town Court in 2007 after 15 years as the court clerk.
She previously had a ceramics business in Long Island for many years. She was a member of the Granby Center Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, arts, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving: her husband of 50 and a half years, Harold Babcock; children, Jennifer Meyerriecks of Rochester, N.H., Kurt (Barbara) Babcock of Cortland, Kerry (Gerald, Jr.) Truax of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Melissa (Michael), Sabrina, and Seth; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Maverick; a brother, Robert (Jacki) VanValkenburgh; a sister, Susan Needham; an uncle, Gerald Mestyanek; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours and services were held Friday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial was in Halcott Cemetery, Halcott.
