The numbers speak for themselves.

In the past week, the Fulton boys varsity basketball team has played the best basketball it has all season.

Jan. 19, Fulton gave East Syracuse-Minoa, a team with a .500 overall record, all it could handle. ES-M, however, came away with a 53-51 win.

The Red Raiders responded Jan. 23 in a rematch against Fowler. Fulton outscored Fowler 32-22 during the first and third quarters of the game en route to its first win of the season.

East Syracuse-Minoa needed a fourth quarter rally to hold off the Red Raiders.

By the end of the first quarter, the Red Raiders built a five-point lead over East Syracuse-Minoa.

East Syracuse-Minoa stormed back during the second quarter. They outscored Fulton by 5 points to tie the game at 27-27.

Once again, the Red Raiders came out of the gates swinging. During the third quarter, Fulton re-established the five-point lead it had earlier in the game.

Unfortunately, for the Red Raiders, East Syracuse-Minoa proved to be too much down the stretch. They rallied to erase Fulton’s lead during the fourth quarter to escape with the 53-51 win.

Fulton was led by Cody Green and his 22 points. Following Green were Mark Pollock with 13 points and Cody Dick with six points. Taylor Dudley, Seth Britton and Jordan Baldwin combined to score 10 points for Fulton.

The Red Raiders finally put together a winning performance when they took on Fowler.
