Claudine H. “Babe” (Blake) Northrup, 82, formerly of Fulton, died Nov. 9, 2012 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, N.H. after a period of declining health.
She was born Sept. 8, 1930 to the late William and Claudine Blake of Hannibal and was affectionately known as “Babe” her entire life. She was a graduate of Hannibal High School, Class of 1947, and she retired after many years of service from Nestle Co., Fulton.
In her life, she enjoyed bowling, bingo, and bunko. She was actively involved in various civic and religious organizations, including the post of past president of the Fulton Elk’s Ladies Auxiliary and as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Church, Fulton. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert Northrup, in 2008; her first husband, Leon Laws; and most of her many siblings.
She is survived by her son, attorney Michael L. Laws and his wife, Patricia, of Nashua, N.H.; daughter, Denise Davis of Syracuse; two siblings, Janet Bogdal and William Blake both of Florida; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held today, Nov. 17 at 10:15 a.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, with Rev. Moritz Fuchs officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be conducted today from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
