Oswego County legislators uncomfortable with data imaging RFP process

The question of whether the request for proposal process is being handled properly by Oswego County officials is expected to be answered by the New York State Comptroller’s Office.

The county solicited RFP’s for data imaging services with the responses due Friday. They were not publicly opened as some legislators said they feel should have been.

“I am not comfortable with this,” Legislator Amy Tresidder said. “There is no transparency and no accountability to the public.”

Amy Tressider considers run for New York State Senate

Oswego County Legislator Amy Tresidder said Thursday that she is considering a run for the New York State Senate seat currently held by Patty Ritchie.

Tresidder said she has filed with the Board of Elections for a spot on the ballot for the 48th Senate District.

“I am strongly considering challenging her,” Tresidder said of her prospective bid against incumbent Ritchie. “I have not yet made an official announcement.”
Tresidder said she has the support of the three counties that encompass the district: Oswego, St. Lawrence and Jefferson.

View From The Fourth Floor: March 21, 2012

Yesterday was St. Baldrick’s Day.

Representatives from across Oswego County were honored with a proclamation from the legislature at Thursday’s meeting.

Oswego County Undersheriff Gene Sullivan was one of the participants who went bald in support of kids with cancer.

The money raised from the event is used toward cancer research. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is second only to the U.S. Government in funding childhood cancer research.
