Fulton girls lacrosse splits games

The Fulton girls varsity lacrosse team recently lost to Jamesville-DeWitt but rebounded with a win against Oswego.

Jamesville-DeWitt got it done during the second half to come away with a win over Fulton April 18.

The Lady Raiders had better luck against Oswego April 20. This time around, Fulton was more efficient during the second half as it escaped with a hard fought win.

The Lady Raiders’ first half effort against Jamesville-DeWitt was as competitive as they come. Fulton outscored Jamesville-DeWitt by just a goal as it took a 7-6 lead into halftime. Unfortunately for the Lady Raiders, Jamesville-DeWitt took over during the second half. While holding Fulton to only three goals, Jamesville-Dewitt stormed ahead to come away with the 14-10 win.

The Lady Raiders were led by Amelia Coakley, who scored four goals. Following Coakley was Kate Rothrock with three goals.

Erica Knaub chipped in a goal and three assists while Julia Ludington and Cassie Orr added a goal each for Fulton.

Keeper Kayla Pafami saved four shots on goal.

The Lady Raiders saw a more favorable outcome when they took on Oswego. Like its previous game, Fulton was involved in a first half slugfest. After a competitive first half, Oswego outscored the Lady Raiders by only a goal as it took a 5-4 lead into halftime. However, unlike its previous game, Fulton got it done during the second half. The Lady Raiders outscored Oswego by two goals to escape with the 10-9 win.

Leading the way for Oswego was Kelly Chetney, who scored three goals against Fulton.

Following Chetney were Breanna Sherman with two goals and an assist and Alexa Healy with two goals.

Sydney Knight, Sarah Stobener and Alison McPherson combined to chip in a goal and four assists for Oswego.

Keeper Kerrigan Cummins saved five shots on goal.

Knaub led Fulton with four goals and one assist.

Coakley and Michaela Whiteman finished with two goals each. Kate Rothrock, Julia Ludington and Alise Tallents combined to chip in two goals and an assist for the Lady Raiders.

Pafami saved five shots on goal for Fulton.
