Brian Dick golf tournament June 14

The fourth annual Brian Dick Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for June 14.

People can sign up now to participate. All proceeds go towards the Brian Dick Memorial Scholarship at John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix.

The tournament is captain and crew format with four-person teams. The cost is $75 a person or $300 a team. This includes green fees, cart, hot dog, beverage at the turn, dinner after at Tavern on the Lock, skins, red tee, mulligan and extra putt (each player gets one extra putt to use during the round).

The event will be at Emerald Crest Golf Course, Palermo.

Little League takes to the fields of Fulton

More than 300 boys and girls are participating in 29 teams in Little League in Fulton this spring. In the photo at top, Foster Funeral Home pitcher Toby Roberts is delivering a pitch to Sugar Funeral Home batter Jake Ely on May 5 in a Fulton Little League Baseball Major League Division Game at Kiwanis Kidhaven in Fulton.

In the second photo Burke’s Home Center batter Owen Skiff and Crest Automotive catcher Jeffrey Sterling are pictured during a May 8 Fulton Little League Baseball AA Division Game at Fulton’s Kiwanis Kidhaven. Little League continues through about mid-June. Then teams move to the playoffs and all-stars. Last season, two Fulton teams made it to the New York State championships.

One of the area’s most anticipated and largest golf tournaments, the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Golf Classic is looking to be bigger and better than ever this year.  

Scheduled for Monday, July 14, the United Way Annual Golf Classic will be held at one of Central New York’s finest private golf courses, the Oswego County Club. Continue reading
