My neighbor has a dog that he keeps tied out behind his house. I can barely see into his backyard, but as far as I can tell the dog spends most of its time out there and there is never any food or water for it.
Is it OK if I just go over there and feed and water the dog myself when he is not home? The yard is not posted or anything.
Media icon Charlie Rose of CBS-TV’s “This Morning” and the “Charlie Rose” show on PBS will be awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters degree by the State University of New York on Thursday, Oct. 16, in conjunction with the 10th annual Dr. Lewis B. O’Donnell Media Summit at SUNY Oswego.
Rose is a world-renowned journalist and media personality who has interviewed such dignitaries as international statesmen Nelson Mandela and Mikhail Gorbachev, Nobel laureates Toni Morrison and Seamus Heaney, and pop icons Julia Roberts and Bruce Springsteen.
Oswego County families, educators and service providers will meet to explore how to better understand how to work effectively with children’s challenging behavior using collaborative problem solving at 6 p.m. June 11 in the New Haven Elementary School library.
The training is free through a grant funded by Family Support Services in the state Office of People with Developmental Disabilities.
Operation Oswego County Executive Director L. Michael Treadwell, CEcD, was re-elected to another two-year term on the board of directors of the state Economic Development Council at the organization’s annual meeting held in Cooperstown May 21.
The state Economic Development Council is the state’s principal organization representing economic development organizations and professionals.
Its 700 members include industrial development agencies, development corporations, commercial and investment banks, underwriters, bond counsels, utilities, chambers of commerce and private corporations.
In addition to distributing a quarterly newsletter, the organization conducts educational courses and seminars on topics of interest to its membership. The organization also monitors state and federal legislation that impacts economic development.

The fourth annual SUNY Oswego GENIUS Olympiad high school environmental competition will welcome a record turnout of about 600 students, supervisors and guests from around the world June 15 to 20 to the shores of Lake Ontario.
