Physician assistant Downey joins Oswego Health cardiology practice

Physician Assistant David Downey Jr., has joined the practice of Oswego Health Cardiologist Dr. Thomas Grady Jr.

Downey earned his physician assistant degree from Daemen College, located in Amherst, NY, and has been employed by the health system for most of his career.

“This new position offers new challenges and I like my interaction with patients and that I can focus on both patient care and education,” Downey said.  Continue reading

Oswego Health continues its longstanding tradition of sponsoring the Harborfest Children’s Parade, which begins at 1:30 Friday, July 25th at Breitbeck Park and ends at Franklin Square. Oswego Hospital will unveil its patient portal Tuesday, July 1.

This will give patents the capability to conveniently view their own health information from home, while away on vacation or during an appointment with their physician. Continue reading

Oswego Health doctors named Rural Practitioners of the Year

Two Pulaski-based physicians, known for the compassionate quality care they provide their patients, were presented the Rural Practitioners of the Year award during a new provider welcome reception.

Dr. Jay Chapman, and his wife, Dr. Patricia (Pat) Ledden Chapman, provide care at Oswego County Health Services Inc., located on Delano Street in Pulaski.

The two physicians, who said they were highly honored to receive the award, will celebrate their 30th year with the health center in July.

At the reception, held to welcome new physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, the Chapmans talked about how providing care has changed during the last three decades.  Continue reading

Oswego Health offering workshops on healthy living starting in July
