Chester J. Narewski, 98, of Fulton, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton.
Born in Solvay, he was a life resident of Fulton. He retired as the plant manager of Armstrong World Industries in Volney. He was a member of the Fulton Lions Club, St. Michael’s Club, Pathfinder Fish and Game Club, Three Lakes Club, Ducks Unlimited and Fulton Polish Home.
He was a communicant St. Michael’s Church in Fulton. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and collecting antique duck decoys.
He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Narewski, who died June 17, 1990; son, Gary J. Narewski, who died July 30, 2007; a great-grandson, Austin Narewski, who died in 2010; his companion, Dorothy Beckstead, who died in 2008; and by siblings, Stanley, Bill, Helen Hattie and Frances.
Surviving are his grandchildren, Laurie (Mark) Bunschweiger of Oswego, Michael (Lori) Narewski of Wrentham, Mass., Cheryl (Bob) Hufland of Webster and Karen (John) Noel of Fulton; nine great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Paige, Weston, Benjamin, Matthew, Andrew, Nicholas and Michael; daughter-in-law, Ann Narewski; sister-in-law, Mary LaBoda; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours and services were held Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. Spring burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton.
