Afterschool programs coming back to Fulton, Hannibal

Oswego County Opportunities will bring back afterschool programs at Fulton Junior High and Kenney Middle School in Hannibal thanks to money from the state.

State officials announced Friday $10.9 million in new grants for 68 Advantage After School Programs across New York state. OCO is receiving $220,000 to provide an afterschool program at the two schools.

According to a news release from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office, the Advantage After School Programs provide thousands of school-age children with youth development opportunities for three hours at the end of each school day.  Continue reading

Oswego school district raises money for United Way’s ‘Stuff-A-Bus’ Campaign

Members of the Oswego County Teachers Association, the Civil Service Employees Association and the Oswego City School District have announced that the annual Stuff-A-Bus Campaign in underway.  Continue reading

Music fun at the Hannibal Senior Dining Center

Bob Simmons recently entertained on his accordian at the Hannibal Senior Dining and Activities Center.  The center is a program of Oswego County Opportunities and is partially supported by the Oswego County Office for the Aging, the New York State Office for the Aging, and the United Way of Greater Oswego. The center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Call Center Manager Rosemary Kellogg at 564-5471 for information or luncheon reservations.
