Meet the Fulton school board candidates

Four seats are open on the Fulton City School District Board of Education. There are five candidates:

Incumbent Barbara Hubbard, Timothy Crandell, incumbent David Cordone, Pamela Parker and Robert Briggs.

The four persons receiving the most votes during the May 20 election will serve three-year terms beginning in July.

Fulton police searching for Price Chopper robbery suspect

Fulton Police are investigating a report of an attempted robbery at
Price Chopper located at 12 W. First St. S. in the City of Fulton.

On May 18,  at about 1:20 a.m., officers responded to Price Chopper
and found that an unknown white male entered the business and passed a note to the clerk demanding money. No weapons were observed.

The suspect was last seen leaving the area on foot.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5’7″ – 5’8″ tall, wearing a
tan colored Carhartt jacket, purple ball cap and loose fitting sweat
pants.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to
contact the Fulton Police Department at 598-2007, or at the anonymous Tips Hotline at 593-TIPS.

From high school to college, this senior artist has big plans.

Abigail Shatrau, named by CNY Arts Center at its Student Artist of the Month, is now 18 and almost ready to go out in the world. But life started out a bit different from what her future plans are.

Born and raised in Fulton, Shatrau has grown from crazy noodle art, glitter and glue, Lego building, paper people building and much more to a wonderful artist.   Continue reading

Little League takes to the fields of Fulton

More than 300 boys and girls are participating in 29 teams in Little League in Fulton this spring. In the photo at top, Foster Funeral Home pitcher Toby Roberts is delivering a pitch to Sugar Funeral Home batter Jake Ely on May 5 in a Fulton Little League Baseball Major League Division Game at Kiwanis Kidhaven in Fulton.

In the second photo Burke’s Home Center batter Owen Skiff and Crest Automotive catcher Jeffrey Sterling are pictured during a May 8 Fulton Little League Baseball AA Division Game at Fulton’s Kiwanis Kidhaven. Little League continues through about mid-June. Then teams move to the playoffs and all-stars. Last season, two Fulton teams made it to the New York State championships.
