Herbert “Butch” Kelly, Jr., 64, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse after a brief illness.
He was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School, class of 1969.
Butch recently retired from Interface Solutions in Fulton as a maintenance supervisor after 42 years. He served with the Army National Guard of New York from 1970 to 1976. Continue reading

Abner Bradley, 51, of East Seventh Street, Oswego, charged with grand larceny third degree, welfare fraud third degree and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing, all felonies.
The cities of Fulton and Oswego are receiving state grants to rehabilitate and build low- and moderate-income housing.
The competitive awards are made to local municipalities and nonprofits to help revitalize community and drive local economic activity.
Auditions for CNY Arts Center production of “Romeo and Juliet” are set for this Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at its theatre located at 357 State St. in the Methodist Church.

Rehearsals will begin immediately Tuesday, June 24. Actors are asked to prepare four lines of Shakespeare for auditions. The show will run mid-August. Exact dates will be announced soon.
“Doing Shakespeare is a departure from what we’ve done so far,” said Nancy Fox, producer, “and few other local theatre companies in Oswego County have done it. It’s a response to interest among local actors who want something they can really challenge themselves with and we’re open to exploring the idea.”
“It’s also a familiar title and who doesn’t know the story? It will be a classic retelling of the tragic love story and a new theater experience for many.”

On Friday June 13, police officials found and removed the car that had been reported seen in the Oswego River in Fulton.
Also found in the car is what police believe are human remains. Media reports from over the weekend state the car could be that of Carol Wood, who was last seen leaving an Oswego business in 1996 in her 1993 red Toyota Corolla. Continue reading
A Father’s Day Breakfast Buffet is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Sunday June 15 at Masonic Lake City Lodge No. 127.
Dads can eat for free with a minimum of one paid ticket.
Lake City Lodge buffet usually includes French toast, pancakes, home fries, eggs, bacon and sausage, coffee, milk, juice and water.
