Auditions begin this week for Romeo and Juliet at CNY Arts Center

Auditions for CNY Arts Center production of “Romeo and Juliet” are set for this Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at its theatre located at 357 State St. in the Methodist Church.

Enter through the Park Street entrance.

Rehearsals will begin immediately Tuesday, June 24.  Actors are asked to prepare four lines of Shakespeare for auditions. The show will run mid-August. Exact dates will be announced soon.

“Doing Shakespeare is a departure from what we’ve done so far,” said Nancy Fox, producer, “and few other local theatre companies in Oswego County have done it. It’s a response to interest among local actors who want something they can really challenge themselves with and we’re open to exploring the idea.”

“It’s also a familiar title and who doesn’t know the story? It will be a classic retelling of the tragic love story and a new theater experience for many.”

Information is available on the website at www.CNYArtsCenter.com or email your questions to CNYArtsCenters@gmail.com.
