The Fulton varsity baseball team finished its season with a 4-14 record after losing two of its last three games.
On May 13, Cortland topped the Red Raiders 5-0. Christian Brothers Academy cruised past Fulton 11-4 May 15. Fulton knocked off county rival Phoenix 4-0 May 17.
In the Cortland game, the Purple Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first. After a scoreless second inning, Cortland expanded its lead, coring four more runs in the third for the shutout 5-0 win over Fulton.
Leading the way for the Red Raiders was Jon Cummins with two hits, followed by Michael Bolster and Chris Jones with a hit each.
On the mound, Fulton was led by Peter Ravesi, who threw one strikeout and allowed five runs off nine hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. In relief of Ravesi, Dillon Guernsey threw five strikeouts while allowing three hits in 2 2/3 innings pitched.
Against CBA, the Brothers had a 9-3 lead after the third inning. Following a scoreless fourth inning, CBA expanded its lead, scoring two more runs in the fifth to take an 11-3 lead.
But, the Red Raiders didn’t quit. After a scoreless sixth inning, Fulton scored to cut the deficit down to seven runs. But that was as close as they could get at CBA finished with an 11-4 win.
Fulton was led by Dan Coant with two hits and two RBIs including a homerun. Following Coant was Jake Seymour with two hits and an RBI and Cody Green, Dillon Guernsey, Jeremy Langdon and Peter Ravesi each added a hit.
The Red Raiders were led by Dan Count on the mound, who allowed 11 runs off 11 hits in five innings of work. In relief of Coant, George Lewis threw a strikeout while allowing one hit in an inning pitched.
In the Phoenix game, Fulton took a 2-0 lead in the first. Despite having its opportunities, Phoenix was unable to generate the offense it needed to rally. Fulton added two more runs during the second inning to cap off a 4-0 win.
Leading the way for the Phoenix was Zach Schlacter and Bryce Plante wiht a hit each. On the mound, Bradley Dietz allowed four runs off six hits in three innings of work. In relief of Dietz, Dan Frawley threw four strikeouts while allowing three hits in four innings pitched.
Fulton was led by Cameron Clark with two hits and an RBI, followed by Jon Cummins with two hits, Cody Green with a hit and an RBI and Charles Alton, Michael Bolster, Chris Jones and Jeremy Langdon each added a hit. Jake Seymour chipped in an RBI.
Peter Ravesi pitched a complete game for the Red Raiders. Ravesi threw six strikeouts while allowing only two hits.
