Oswego Health doctors named Rural Practitioners of the Year

Two Pulaski-based physicians, known for the compassionate quality care they provide their patients, were presented the Rural Practitioners of the Year award during a new provider welcome reception.

Dr. Jay Chapman, and his wife, Dr. Patricia (Pat) Ledden Chapman, provide care at Oswego County Health Services Inc., located on Delano Street in Pulaski.

The two physicians, who said they were highly honored to receive the award, will celebrate their 30th year with the health center in July.

At the reception, held to welcome new physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, the Chapmans talked about how providing care has changed during the last three decades.  Continue reading

Oswego Health offering workshops on healthy living starting in July

Oswego Health is once again offering free healthy living workshops for community members who want to better manage their chronic conditions.

The Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women recently celebrated its 25th anniversary at Vona’s Restaurant in Oswego.

As part of the festivities, the group awarded a scholarship check to Michaela Moran, a graduating Oswego High School senior.  Moran plans to attend SUNY Oswego for medical technology. Continue reading

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Lamson Grange #588 is hosting a community chicken barbecue from 12:30 p.m. until sold out Saturday, June 28.

The menu will consist of barbecued chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, roll and pie. 

Music will be provided by Larry Hoyt and the Good Brothers from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

A strawberry social is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday June 28 at the Elks Club in Fulton.

There also will be a classic car show and country cruizers going on at the same time. The Elks Lodge is at 75 Pierce Drive.
