Coleman endorsed by Democrats for Family Court judge

Oswego lawyer Lou Anne Rucynski Coleman is running for Oswego County Family Court Judge and has been endorsed by the Oswego County Democratic Committee.

Coleman represents and advocates for children, parents and grandparents in Family Court. With more than 14 years of legal experience, she has proven her integrity and commitment to Oswego County families.

In addition to advocating for her clients in Family Court, Coleman has prosecuted criminals as an Assistant Oswego County District Attorney and has also served the public as Assistant City Attorney for the city of Oswego and as a staff attorney with Legal Services of Central New York.

She has taught public justice and business law at SUNY Oswego, where she graduated cum laude prior to obtaining her law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law.

Coleman was born and raised in Oswego and, as a single mother, worked her way through college.

She has been married to her husband, Harry, for 18 years. A mother of two, she is eager to put her experience to work for Oswego County families.

“As a Family Court Judge, I will work to find sensible and impartial solutions to complex problems, while respecting all those who come before the court,” said Coleman.

Coleman’s dedication to Oswego families goes beyond the courtroom through her extensive community service. She has served as a counselor with Oswego County Hospice, an education coordinator for the American Red Cross, a board member at Farnham Family Services, and has been active in local youth hockey and soccer associations.

Coleman believes her experience in law and in life, combined with her integrity and sense of fairness, makes her the right choice for Family Court Judge.

  1. I’ve had two experiences with Lou Anne Rucynski Coleman, one of which was in Family Court, the other was in a professional situation outside of court. She showed dignity and respect in neither.

She will NOT be getting my vote.
