State Sen. Patty Ritchie has filed petitions at the State Board of Elections containing 5,000 signatures in support of her reelection.
Ritchie is seeking to appear on three lines — Republican, Conservative and Independence — on the Nov. 4 ballot.
The signatures represent three times the number that Ritchie needed under State Election Law to appear on the ballot. The signatures totaled 3,681 Republican, 321 Conservative and 960 Independence, and include representation from each of three counties in the district: Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence.
“I want to thank the hundreds of volunteers, friends and families who worked hard to gather signatures for my election petitions so that I continue to fight for the residents of Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties,” Ritchie said.
Ritchie filed her designating petitions at the Board of Election in Albany late Tuesday. She is seeking a third term in the state Senate. Election law required Ritchie to gather 1,000 signatures for the Republican line, 145 for the Conservative line, and 436 for the Independence line.
