Summer concerts continue in Phoenix

“Music in the Park” concerts are continuing through the summer at Henley Park in Phoenix.

The “Music in the Park” summer concert series has been approved for partial funding through the state Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, with the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state Legislature.

It is administered locally by CNY Arts (formerly the Cultural Resources Council).

The concerts, sponsored by the town of Schroeppel, Phoenix Community and Youth Council, Phoenix Public Library, and Fulton Savings Bank, will take place this summer for the 14th year.

All concerts begin at 6 p.m., except the Phoenix Community Band show, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

The schedule is as follows:

  • July 21 – Weekend Pass
  • July 28 – Phoenix Community Concert Band
  • Aug. 4 – Custom Taylor Band
  • Aug. 11 –  Dan Elliot & The Monterays (oldies)
  • Aug. 18 – DeSantis Band

The village of Phoenix also secured a grant from CNY Arts for a “Friday Nights of Fun” concert series. These will feature a variety of musical styles performed by some of the most talented musicians in Central New York.

These concerts are at 6 p.m. Fridays in Henley Park.

The schedule is as follows:

  • July 25 – Vote for Pete

The Friday night concerts are also made possible with funds from Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Leon Vickery Agency, Adolfi Real Estate, and KL Consulting Services, and many 2013 concert goers.

The rain location for all of the concerts, except the Phoenix Community Band, will be at the Phoenix fire station (Route 57).

The Phoenix Community Band concert will be canceled in the event of bad weather.
