Emma Ruth Mills, homemaker


Emma Ruth Mills, 85, of Phoenix, NY, passed away Thursday July 10, 2014.

Born to her late parents Nora (MacDougall) and Clifford Holmes on April 30, 1929, Emma was a homemaker.

Emma was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Edward A. Mills, Sr., on Feb. 18, 1999.

Surviving are her four sons, Edward A. Mills, Jr., Roger Mills, Clifford Mills, and Lance Mills; six daughters, Connie Mills Soppe, Adell Kenyon, Shelli Wilcox, Terri Mills Laurrie Porter, and Beckie Hawley; several grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Judy and Sally; brothers, Jerry and Harry, several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Calling hours are Wednesday July 16 from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m., all in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, with the Rev. Shawn Porter officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday July 18,  in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St., Phoenix.
