Immediate Past President of the Oswego Rotary Club Sue Witmer, right, passed the gavel to incoming President Melanie Trexler at the club’s annual Changing of the Guard ceremony recently.  The annual Changing of the Guard ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of the outgoing officers and board members and welcomes the new slate of officers, board members and recognized honorary rotarians. Trexler is executive director of the United Way of Oswego County. Trexler also recently presented her goals and club plan for the fiscal year which include increasing membership, local volunteerism, collecting school supplies for the annual Stuff-a-Bus campaign, Thesauruses distribution to fourth-graders in the Oswego City School District and sponsoring scholarships at Oswego High School.  The Rotary International theme for the 2014/2015 fiscal year is ‘Light up Rotary’ and Trexler hopes to light up our community with joint partnerships and initiatives.
