Time for SOS Fest is drawing near

The countdown has begun to The SOS FEST July 18-20 at Firemen’s Field, Rochester Street, Hannibal.

This is a large three-day Christian music festival with more than 15 bands.

There also will be some powerful speakers and more than two dozen display booths. There also will be free waterslides, and workshops on Saturday morning and afternoon. A kids carnival will be available during the workshops so parents can attend the workshops while the kids are busy.

The SOS FEST this year ends with the start of the Concert in the Park, so there will also be a softball game, duck derby and more bands.

Gates open Friday July 18 at 5 p.m.  The night is geared toward families and teens. Here is the schedule:

6 p.m. –  The 7 Thunders

7 p.m. — Silversyde from Ohio

8 p.m. — Speaker Wes Aarum from Buffalo

8:30 — SEVENTH DAY SLUMBER from Texas. Their recently released CD has a song at #3 on the National charts and is top 10 in National air play. Lead singer Joseph Rojas will also share his testimony and speak on Compassion International, one of the SOS FEST sponsors.

Saturday starts with worship at 10 a.m. with Kris Mays and band.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Kids’ carnival.

8:45 – BLUETREE from Belfast Ireland. They had the #1 worship song in the world in 2009 with the song “God Of This City”

Saturday’s music is less rock, more worship, or power worship style. Great for all ages.

On Sunday at 10 a.m., there will be worship and music with the New Life Band from Herkimer with Hannibal’s                   Adam Svereika on drums.

10:45 — Aaron Boyd from Bluetree will give the message

11:15 — Worship jam with all remaining musicians.

3 p.m. — Hannibal concert in the park with the Fulton Community Band, and The 10th Mountain Division Band
