Sixth-graders said goodbye to Granby Elementary in the Fulton school district during a recent promotion ceremony held at the school.
To commemorate their moving to the Fulton Junior High in the fall, students were honored certificates and awards.
The Triple “C” Award was presented to Taylor Bonoffski and Kayleigh LaBeef. This award recognizes role model students for demonstrating outstanding character, courage and commitment to their education.
The Comptroller’s Achievement Award was presented to Jacob Fauler and Bernadette DeMott for demonstrating academic leadership at Granby.
In recognition of her academic achievement, school involvement, and her love of learning, people and the community, sixth-grader Emily Porter was presented with the Robert and Alice Jonas Book Award.
The Presidential Achievement Award was presented to Conner Billings, Dustin Bristol, Bernadette DeMott, Ethan Fischel, Jacob Fauler, Ryan Gerth, Kayleigh LaBeef, Jadon Lee, Alex Mallo and Gage VanHorn.
The Presidential Excellence Award was bestowed upon Kylie Ashline, Taylor Bonoffski, Nolan Dexter, Leah O’Hanlon, Emily Porter and Andrew Smith.
Granby Character Awards were presented to Annalise Archer, Nathanial Archer, Kylie Ahline, Taylor Bonoffski, Dustin Bristol, Jordan Carey, Bernadette DeMott, Chayanne Dillingham, Login Dingman, Savanah Dishaw, Jacob Fauler, Aryonna Hall, Robert Knapp, Kayleigh LaBeef, Alex Mallo, Caleb Mt. Pleasant, Allie Nichols, Makayla Nolin, Emily Porter, Conner Schneider, Jade Schneider Morgan Schuler, Andrew Smith and Gage VanHorn.
Rounding out the ceremony was a special $1,400 donation from the sixth grade to Angela Schuler, whose son Paulie Morley was diagnosed with leukemia. The students held a carnival this year to raise money and used part of their fundraising for the donation.
