Nurses from Michaud and St. Luke Health Services have set two new dates for their popular bone density screening.
The bone density screenings are open to the public and free of charge. The screening test is easy to do and takes only a few minutes to complete.
Michaud and St. Luke nurses will be available to discuss the screening results and answer health-related questions.
The free bone density screenings will take place at the following locations:
• State Street United Methodist Church, 357 State St., Fulton, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5.
• First United Methodist Church, 4372 Church Street in Mexico, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday, July 28.
No appointment is necessary at either location.
“Our bone density screening program is a great chance for you to receive valuable health information free of charge,” said Michaud Registered Nurse Dorothy Reitz.
“Healthy bone mass is important throughout our lives but especially so as we grow older,” Reitz added. “As we age our bones can become more fragile leading to an increased risk of fracture as a result of falls.
“The information provided by the screening we offer may help you to improve your health and quality of life; especially for those who may be experiencing the onset of osteoporosis,” she said.
