When Mother Nature finally released her grip on a relentless winter and a chilly spring, students in Mary Ryan’s class at Oswego County BOCES wanted to get outdoors and help beautify the grounds surrounding the Mexico campus.

The middle school garden club turned its focus to the exterior of the Stern building, where they removed weeds, raked the lawn and tidied up the area.

The group met four separate times as part of the beautification effort.

Ryan said the students’ hard work was evident to anyone who was on the BOCES campus.
