Oswego Hospital will unveil its patient portal Tuesday, July 1.

This will give patents the capability to conveniently view their own health information from home, while away on vacation or during an appointment with their physician.

“The goal of this interactive web portal is to empower patients and their families to take a more active role in their health care by providing easy, secure access to their health information,” said Oswego Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Renato Mandanas. “This information will be conveniently available online 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

The portal can be accessed through the main page of Oswego Health’s website, oswegohealth.org

The Oswego Health patient portal will give patients access to lab test results, completed during a hospital stay, as well as their health summary, allergies and conditions and their hospital discharge instructions.

Outpatient laboratory and medical image results will also be available after a delay that provides physicians an opportunity to review and discuss those results with their patient. Additional functionality will be added in the near future.

Patients will be able to give family members access to their patient information as well, once consent has been provided.

Enrollment is easy. Patients will need to know their medical record number, which will be provided to them during their hospital stay and have a valid email address.

Oswego Hospital has been collecting email addresses from patients in preparation of the portal launch.
