On Thursday evenings in July at the Oswego Farmers’ Market, stop in at Lakeside Artisans at 191 W. First St. to see a variety of creative art techniques demonstrated by the shop’s artists.
On July 3, Cindy Schmidt will explain techniques she uses to hand paint colorful silk scarves.
Carl Patrick, Lakeside Artisans’ newest member, will demonstrate his woodcarving techniques July 10. On July 17, Carol Burghart will show how she creates her luminous watercolor paintings.
Diane Chepko-Sade’s fused glass artwork will be showcased on July 24. On the final Thursday of the month, July 31, Sue Nix will demonstrate how she creates her Polymer Clay jewelry.
Along with the demonstrations, Lakeside Artisans is holding a drawing for an Oswego Lighthouse T-shirt and Lakeside Artisans‘ mug. Stop by the store during the Farmers‘ Market to fill out a ticket. No purchase necessary.
The drawing will take place at 7 p.m. every Thursday. So far three lucky people have won and chosen the shirt with their favorite view of the Lighthouse from three different artists‘ renderings.
Lakeside Artisans is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays during the Farmers’ Market, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
