Watching a Doe and Her Fawn, by Jim Farfaglia

Ears are tops in importance.

Necks rotate with commanding range.

Eyes reflect a life in the wild.

A coat of fur carries history.

Living many years makes one wise.

Living few can lead one astray –

but a mother always knows best

and need not make a sound to say so.
