The 14U Pride travel softball program will have its final tryout/commitment day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at the Oswego High School varsity softball field.
The event is open to any girl interested in playing 14-and-under Pride travel softball this summer.
Players eligible for the 14-under ASA travel softball program must be born after Jan. 1, 1999.
The session will consist of skill work and a scrimmage game to evaluate players for the 2014 season and will be conducted by Pride 14U coach Kevin Ahern and Oswego High School coach Mike McCrobie.
The Pride is in its 18th year of competing in the Amateur Softball Association’s Junior Olympic softball program. Pride has won numerous tournaments throughout Central New York, as well as two New York State Class B 16U championships.
“We’d like any girl who is in this age group and is passionate about softball to come on out to find out what Pride travel softball is all about,” McCrobie, who also is Pride organizer. “The season is just a few weeks away, so we’re ready to establish a roster and begin practices right away.”
Players from throughout Central New York are welcome, as Pride Softball is not limited to just a city or school district boundaries
Pride Softball is made possible through the generosity of Oswego businesses and civic organizations.
