Armed with years of experience and knowledge in the educational system, Hannibal Central School District Board of Education member Dale Young will be honored for his service during an upcoming regional meeting.
Young, who has held a school board seat for nearly a decade, has been declared a board member of achievement by the Central New York School Boards Association.
The honor will be presented during the organization’s 32nd annual meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. May 29 (tonight) at The Lodge at Welch Allyn in Skaneateles.
“This is the highest honor CNYSBA confers and it recognizes not only Dale’s many years of tireless service to the board of education, but also his leadership on behalf of your district and its students, staff and community, as well as his dedication to colleagues on other school boards and school boards associations,” CNYSBA Executive Director Charles Borgognoni said in an email to Hannibal school officials.
According to Hannibal Board of Education President Erin Hess, Young has been a staple on the school board and in the community. His service to the people of Hannibal has not gone unnoticed, she said.
“We are very proud of Dale and thrilled to see him receive this recognition that he so deserves,” said Superintendent Donna Fountain.
Young was just re-elected to another term on the school board May 20.
