CNY Arts Center seeks vendors

CNY Arts Center is still recruiting vendors for its fourth annual Arts Fest, which makes a return to its original downtown location from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 14.

Celebrating Arts in the Heart Gallery’s first anniversary with the addition of Arts Fest in the streets will turn the downtown corridor on First Street into a street festival for the arts with a rich history of street closures for art events.

The Gallery is located at 47 S. First St. across from the gazebo.

“Fulton has celebrated art in the streets many times for Jazz Fest, River Fest, and more dating back to the 40s when Cayuga St was closed for an art show,” said Nancy Fox, director. “Our first Arts Fest was here in 2011 and we’re excited to return with vendors displaying amazing artistry. Everything must be handmade original art and handmade crafts.”

Vendors can receive a 10×10 booth and enjoy increased signage and better foot traffic as several blocks are closed from the Farmers’ Market to the gazebo and north to south from Tavern on the Lock to the Salvation Army.

Traffic will flow normally down Cayuga Street and southward from Fulton Savings Bank drive-through lanes.

“We’re thinking positive for beautiful weather, but artists vendors may want to bring canopies with weights for tie-downs,” Fox said.

“Tavern on the Lock will provide food along with Treat Me Sweet desserts. Fire Magick Dancers will perform in the streets and the annual community mural project will be assembled at the gazebo,” she said.

Central New York musician, Merlyn Fuller of the duo Merry Mischief, who performed at the second annual Arts Fest, will regale stories from her first book, Fairy Tales & Horror Stories: A Memoir, of her wild life which started simply as a farm girl who just happened to be the unfortunate next door neighbor to a documented future serial killer.

“There is something for everyone at the fourth Annual Arts Fest,” Fox said.

For more information or to register as a vendor, visit or call 592-3373. The Arts Fest is free and open to the public.
