Students from the Fulton YMCA’s karate class helped raise money for Make-a-Wish by holding a kick-a-thon.

Sensei Suzanne Summerville held the event with her classes April 29 (World Wish Day) and May 1.

Students who participated received sponsors or made donations to see how many kicks they could do. Summerville, who has been the Sensei at the YMCA in Fulton for 25 years, did a great job encouraging the kids and praising the kids for their hard work.

Karen Frost, of Fulton, who is a wish grantor, was also at the event to help cheer on the students. Frost has been a wish grantor for five years and has also helped at other fundraisers that the Granby Elementary students are doing to raise funds for Make-A-Wish.

The money will go directly toward the goal of $6,000 that the Granby Elementary sixth-graders need so they can sponsor a wish.

If you would like to help, they are also doing a can drive. Cans and bottles can be brought to The Three Little Pigs redemption center (across from Lake Neatahwanta).

Please be sure to mention Granby sixth-graders for Make-a-Wish. The community’s support is greatly appreciated.
