Fulton girls’ lacrosse wins 2 of last 3 games

The Fulton girls’ varsity lacrosse team won two out of its last three games and now have a 4-4 record.

Fulton came up short April 17 against county foe, Mexico, 8-6. The Lady Raiders needed overtime to hold off Cortland, 10-8 on April 24. Fulton topped Whitesboro 14-7 on April 28.

After an evenly played first half, the Mexico-fulton game was tied at 5. However, Mexico was a little too much down the stretch, outscoring Fulton 3-1 during the second half to come away with an 8-6 win.

Leading the way for Mexico was Molly Beck with three goals and an assist, followed by Victoria Downdrow with three goals, Kassidy Myers with a goal and  three assists and Arena Marteen with a goal. Goalie Shannon Cory saved seven of Fulton’s 13 shots on goal.

The Lady Raiders were led by Casey Shannon with two goals and an assist, followed by Julia Ludington and Keara Patterson with a goal and an assist each. Amelia Coakley and Jordan Coulon chipped in a goal each. Fulton Goalie Kaylin Pafumi saved five of Mexico’s 13 shots on goal.

The first half of the Cortland game was very competitive, going into the half tied at 5. The second half was equally as competitive.

Both teams scored three goals down the stretch to force overtime with the game tied at 8. However, Fulton took care of business in overtime, scoring two more goals to Cortland’s zero for the 10-8 win.

Leading the way for the Lady Raiders was Amelia Coakley with three goals, followed by Julia Ludington and McKenna Chesbro with two goals each. Gina Babock, Keara Patterson and Casey Shannon added a goal each. Fulton Goalie Kaylin Pafumi saved 11 of Cortland’s 19 shots on goal.

The Lady Raiders built an 8-4 lead over  Whitesboro in the first half of their game and then added to the lead in the second half.

They outscored Whitesboro 6-3 down the stretch en route to a 14-7 win.

 Fulton was led by Keara Patterson with five goals and an assist, followed by Julia Ludington with two goals and an assist. Gina Babcock and Olivia Coakley scored two goals each. Jordan Coulon chipped in a goal and an assist. McKenna Chesbro, Amelia Coakley and Casey Shannon combined for two goals and two assists. Lady Raider Goalie Kaylin Pafumi saved six of Whitesboro’s 13 shots on goal.
