Friends of Camp Hollis will host a fun-filled day at Camp Hollis at its annual open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 18.
“This is a great opportunity to visit the site, ask questions, meet some of the camp staff, and experience a taste of the camping environment,” said Brandon Morey, coordinator of recreation and youth development for the Oswego City – County Youth Bureau and director of Camp Hollis.
“We will also have registration paperwork, scholarship forms, and parent handbooks available that day for parents and families to take and fill out,” Morey said.
During the summer, Camp Hollis offers weeklong camping sessions for children between the ages of 9 and 14 starting June 29, as well as an overnight minicamp for 8-year-olds June 26 to June 27.
Camp Hollis fees are calculated on a sliding scale. Families who may need financial assistance may contact the Youth Bureau for options beyond the sliding scale.
Scholarships are made available from the Friends of Camp Hollis, a nonprofit group that provides support for the children’s camp.
Anyone wishing to support camper scholarships may send a check made out to “Friends of Camp Hollis” to Friends of Camp Hollis, P.O. Box 291, Oswego, N.Y. 13126.
Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. Located at 40 Health Camp Road, off Lakeshore Road in the town of Oswego, the facility is also available May through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
