Company found responsible in worker’s death

The U.S. Labor Department has found a Watertown-based company responsible for the death of a construction worker at a Pulaski site.

Kyle Brown, 23, of Turin, Lewis County, died Nov. 18 after being blown off the roof while he was working as part of a crew installing metal decking on the roof of an automobile dealership being built in Pulaski.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration found his employer, general construction contractor MTL Design Inc., failed to provide and ensure the use of fall protection safeguards that would have prevented his death.

OSHA cited the company for a willful and a serious violation.
