If you’re looking for something to do Saturday, here are a couple of ideas.
First, Derby Hill Bird Observatory just off NYS Route 104B in Mexico, is having its annual bird festival. Come from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and spot the annual migration of our feathered friends. Enjoy a full day of family fun with food, activities and more! Learn about hawk identification and join in a silent auction. Admission and parking are free.
Also, learn about the Battle of Oswego during a walking tour at Fort Ontario State Historic Site. At 1:45 p.m. at the tunnel entrance to the fort, Site Manager Paul Lear will take participants on a walk explaining where the British came ashore, where the Americans were stationed and what happened during the battle on May 5 and 6, 1814.
