Fulton varsity baseball losing streak continues

The Fulton varsity baseball team lost its last three games and now have a 1-10 overall record.

On April 24, Christian Brothers Academy knocked off Fulton, 14-4. The Red Raiders fell to county foe, Oswego, 11-5 on April 26. Bishop Ludden topped Fulton, 9-1 on May 2.

CBA jumped out to a 1-0 lead over Fulton during the first inning of their game and the second inning was scoreless. Then CBA added its lead, scoring five unanswered runs during the third inning to take a 6-0 lead.

The Red Raiders answered back, outscoring the Brothers 4-1 during the fourth inning to cut the lead to 7-4. But Fulton was unable to get any closer and CBA added 7 more runs during the fifth and sixth innings en route to the 14-4 win.

Leading the way for the Red Raiders was Cameron Clark with a hit and an RBI, followed by Cody Green and Peter Ravesi with a hit each. Jeremy Langdon is credited with an RBI.

George Lewis began the game on the mound for Fulton. In 1 1/3 innings of work, Lewis allowed 4 runs off 5 hits. In relief of Lewis, Peter Ravesi allowed 10 runs off 8 hits in 4 innings pitched. Dillon Guernsey threw 2 strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings of play.

Oswego and Fulton were tied at 1 after the first inning of their game and then went scoreless in the second inning. In the third, Oswego built a lead, scoring two runs.

The Red Raiders stormed ahead during the next two innings, outscoring Oswego 4-1 during the fourth and fifth innings to take a 5-4 lead. But then Oswego took over, scoring seven unanswered runs during the sixth and seventh innings to come away with an 11-5 win.

Oswego was led by Ryan Lavner with 3 hits and 4 RBI, followed by  Jordan Attwood with 2 hits and 3 RBI. Josh Carney had 2 hits, Zack Salvador added a hit and 2 RBI and Colin Clark chipped in a hit.

Josh Talamo earned the win on the mound for Oswego. In 3 2/3 innings of work, Talamo threw 3 strikeouts while allowing only 1 run off 2 hits. In relief of Talamo, Derek Bivens threw 2 strikeouts while allowing 4 runs off 2 hits in 3 1/3 innings pitched.

Cameron Clark, Jon Cummins, Chris Jones and Jake Seymour led Fulton, each with a hit and an RBI. Michael Bolster is credited with an RBI.

Dan Coant led the Red Raiders on the mound. In 5 innings pitched, Coant threw 5 strikeouts while allowing 4 runs. In relief of Coant, Dillon Guernsey threw a strikeout while allowing 2 runs off 3 hits in an inning of work. While George Lewis threw a strikeout while allowing 5 runs off 3 hits in an inning of playing time.

Bishop Ludden took a 1-0 lead over the Red Raiders during the first inning of their game and then Ludden continued to build on its lead.

They outscored Fulton 5-1 during the second inning to take a 6-1 lead. After a scoreless third inning, Bishop Ludden put the game out of reach, scoring three more runs during the fourth inning to cap off a 9-1 win.

The Red Raiders were led by Michael Bolster with 2 hits and an RBI, followed by Cameron Clark, Cody Green, Jeremy Langdon and Dan Coant with a hit each.

On the mound, Fulton’s Dillon Guernsey threw a strikeout while allowing 3 runs off 5 hits in 3 innings of work. In relief of Guernsey, Charles Alton threw 2 strikeouts while allowing 3 runs off 6 hits in 3 innings pitched.
