Myron “Jim” Harbison, was New York State Veteran of the Year

Myron “Jim” Harbison, 93, of Oswego, died Wednesday Jan. 15 at St. Luke Health Services.

He was born in Oswego, the son of the late Eugene and Sarah Harbison.

Mr. Harbison retired from the United States Navy, and was a World War II veteran after 25 years of service. He later retired as manager of ABC Store in Norfolk, VA.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge #271, Oswego where he was honored as NYS Veteran of the Year. Mr. Harbison was a fourth degree Knight and life member with the Knights of Columbus Council # 227, Oswego.

Mr. Harbison was predeceased by his wife Mary Harbison in 2008 after 68 years of marriage.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and close friends. Graveside services will be held Monday Jan. 20 at 9 a.m. in All Saints Mausoleum, Oswego.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego.
