Rose Frawley, 95 of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 24 at St. Luke Residential Health Services in Oswego.
She was a life resident of Fulton who was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Rose attended the Fulton School District and then worked at Brown and Bailey Jewelry Store and later as a dental hygienist for Dr. Hoke.
Most recently she worked as the housekeeper at the Immaculate Conception Church rectory (now Holy Trinity Parish).
Rose was a devout Catholic and served as trustee of Immaculate Conception Church and on the parish council for a number of years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Pere LeMoyne #833 for more than 75 years where she held various offices. Rose served as the regent of the court and also as district deputy, a state position, for eight years.
She was a member of the Women’s Club, Golden Agers, Altar Rosary Society and headed the kitchen crew for Bingo for many years.
Family and friends were very important to Rose and she always extended a helping hand. Rose was a fabulous cook and her cakes and cookies were savored by all. The back door of her kitchen was always open and you never left empty handed.
Rose loved her Ukrainian heritage and hosted Ukrainian Christmas for many years for her extended family. In addition, she hosted many parties in her beloved kitchen.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, James E. Frawley; a son, David Joseph; a sister, Mary Fisher Sable; her parents, John and Olga Fisher and her step-father, William Fisher.
She is survived by her three sons, Patrick (Nancy) Frawley of Oswego, Stephen (Julia) Frawley and Thomas Frawley all of Fulton as well as three brothers, Michael Fisher of Louisiana, Andrew (Bessie) Fisher and John (Eleanor) Fisher all of Fulton and one sister, Anna Moosbrugger of Syracuse. She leaves six grandchildren, Tammy, Colleen, Kelly, Katie, Daniel and Patrick and five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel, Patrick, Laura and newborn, Patrick plus many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Calling hours were Sunday, Oct. 27 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton. A prayer service was held Monday at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Monday at Holy Trinity Parish, corner of Rochester and South Third Sts., Fulton.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton.
