Pendell nets 2 hat tricks in Fulton win against Cicero

Fulton Midget forward AJ Pendell scored six goals in his team’s 10-2 win over Cicero.

The Raiders also tied Cortland 3-3 in recent minor hockey action.

In period one against Cicero, Fulton took control early on when Pendell picked up a rebound from Seth DeLisle and sent the puck over a down goalie.

Pendell then netted a shot from the blue line early in the second period, Adam Croteau assisting.

Cicero narrowed the gap with a goal only for Raider Bryce Knight to score from the point.

Knight landed a shot over the goalie’s shoulder, thanks to a passing play between Ryan Ross and Trae Sheldon before Cicero closed the period with a goal of their own.

Fulton dominated the third stanza, first with Pendell skating the puck in and scoring his first hat trick, then DeLisle making good with an upper corner shot.

Pendell netted two more, first after accepting a pass in front of the net from Sheldon, then taking advantage of a Knight’s rebound on a power play.

Kaiden Hotchkiss landed two in a row, one with DeLisle assisting before Pendell took a feed from Croteau to score the final goal and his second hat trick of the game.

Fulton goalie Brandon Ladd turned aside 9 shots.

On home ice, versus Cortland the first period ended scoreless.  Cortland tallied a two-goal lead in the second stanza when Pendell accepted a pass in front of the net from Ross and sent the puck into the lower corner on a power play.

Ross landed a shot over a sprawling goalie, DeLisle assisting to tie.

Matt Billion threaded the needle with a shot from the blue line to give the Raiders the lead. Cortland scored the equalizer mid-third period, ending the game in a draw.

Goalie Keagan Murphy stopped 23 shots for the Raiders.
